We’re Curating the Exhibition at Creative Week Hanoi 2024

Creative Week Hanoi 2024 is an exciting event that celebrates innovation and creativity in various industries, bringing together artists, designers, and professionals from around the world. The event provides a platform for collaboration, offering exhibitions, workshops, and performances to explore new trends and creative ideas. As one of Hanoi’s premier cultural events, Creative Week Hanoi showcases the city’s growing role as a hub for creative industries in Southeast Asia.

This year, we are honored to have been invited to curate one of the exhibitions at Creative Week Hanoi, hosted in the historic Nhà 93 Dinh Tiên Hoàng, located near the iconic Hoàn Kiếm Lake. Our goal for this exhibition was to create a flexible exhibition design that could easily accommodate last-minute changes and future reuse. We aimed to offer an adaptable space that allowed for easy rearrangement of elements, ensuring a dynamic and functional exhibition.

For this exhibition design, we incorporated industrial design elements like metal mesh, steel frames, bamboo, and concrete bases to create a balance between modernity and tradition. The steel frames were painted in red to soften their appearance and unify the space, while the bamboo and concrete bases were left in their natural form, adding texture and warmth. These materials were chosen not only for their aesthetic value but also for their practicality—they could be assembled by workers with minimal skills, reducing both construction time and costs.

One of the challenges we faced was integrating sponsor materials into the exhibition design. Instead of treating them as separate components, we used the sponsor-provided materials as the foundation for the overall design. This approach allowed us to seamlessly blend these materials with other design elements, ensuring a cohesive and attractive final result.

A key constraint of the exhibition was creating four distinct exhibition zones within the same space. To achieve this, we took advantage of the building’s generous windows facing the lively Hoàn Kiếm Square, which helped visually connect the interior to the outside environment. These four windows served as focal points, guiding visitors through different sections of the exhibition.

To create smooth transitions between zones, we used soft curtain partitions in red colors. The curtains, combined with ceiling fans, created a fluid, dance-like movement that encouraged visitors to explore each section. The soft movement of the curtains provided a welcoming atmosphere and guided visitors effortlessly from one display to the next.

The exhibition’s spatial layout was designed to create an infinite journey with no dead ends. Each section remained visually connected to the next, ensuring that visitors always had a sense of direction and flow. This design ensured a continuous and engaging experience that kept visitors immersed in the space.

By combining flexible design elements with industrial materials and creative touches, we created an exhibition space that was visually captivating, adaptable, and functional. Our approach showcased how creative exhibition design can balance aesthetics, practicality, and innovation, making it a perfect fit for Creative Week Hanoi.https://en.vietnamplus.vn/hanoi-creative-design-festival-draws-300000-visitors-post304174.vnp
